stumped on transmission p0846

i recently had my 03 2.7 L intrepid start throwing a p0846 code any time i hit 40 mph and i would go into limp mode. this happened every time i hit 40. swapped the speed sensors with mopar sensors to no avail. so i bough an aftermarket solenoid pack (powertorque) after quite a bit more diagnostics. and swapped it. following this i drove the car for a week with no issues. a few days ago the car started very infrequently throwing a p0846 code again. so now im stumped because i cant see how the new pack even being aftermarket would break in the exact same way as the original one. today i plugged my computer into the car again and took a little drive while monitoring the engine rpm and vehicle speed on auto enginuity. the tach was fine but the vehicle speed was zeroing out irregularly and then bouncing back to the speed i was going. so i threw the speed on the graphing data log and the speed seems to have very random breaks where it zeros out and then comes back to actual speed. sometimes these breaks are longer than others. upon further investigation it seems that the coolant temp sensor is doing the exact same thing. so i put the two graphs on the same time scale to see if both the speed and trans sensors are zeroing at exactly the same time which would be indicative of the pcm going out. they seem to be completely independent of eachother. so now im still thinking pcm but also maybe a ground. im really kind of stumped with this one. tomorrow im going to clean up the terminals of the pcm and see if that helps. any advice would be much appreciated thank you
