Heater supply tube leaking

Hi again everyone! I was here back in Oct. to get some info about replacing a "Heater return tube" on my brothers Intrepid now I have trouble with my "Heater supply tube" on my 2000 Intrepid 2.7

It's leaking right at the T where the tube and rad hose join. Looks like the tube is rusted through where the plastic wire protector was making contact with the steel tube.

How does one go about removing the tube? Looks like the rad support will be in the way to me.

If you could help me out or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

The pictures were taken in the dark but I think you can see the problem. I didn't actually see fluid leaking out at this point just noticed a puddle under the car and noticed it was wet around this area.

very easy job to do....yes the radiator support will need to come out the way to slide the heat tube out.

4 (8 mm) bolts for the water housing. there is a metal clip toward the back of the engine below the throttle body on the driver side head that clips onto the heater tube on that side......you can pop the heater tube off the clip or iirc there is 1 (10mm) bolt that holds the clip on. remove it and the heater tube should be free to move from the heads.

so that once you have disconnected everything from the metal heater return tube it will slide out between the 2 heads.

i have a used tube that i just pulled off of my old motor, i can sell it to you for $25 shipped to your door...
just send me a photo of yours and i can send you one of mine just so we know we both have the same part...

Thanks for the response TREPCRUZIN and thanks for the offer DI_99 I'll keep the offer in mind.
I pulled mine out and it was leaking just where I thought it was. I poked four holes through with a screwdriver, all in the same area where the plastic wire protector was contacting the tube. I didn't even price the "Heater Supply Tube" at the dealer since my brother had already priced a "Heater Return Tube" at $260. back in Oct. I stuck a wire wheel in my drill cleaned up the holes heated it good and hot put a couple heavy doses of flux to it and solder it. I dosed it a couple times during soldering too. It took real nice but I have to admit I dropped a lot of solder on the floor but when done it's more solid then the rest of the tube. The rest of the tube was in good shape, it was just that one spot. First time I ever had much luck soldering steel! I put it all back together filled it with antifreeze tried the bleeder but it was siezed and the base turned in the cover I pumped the rad hose to force the antifreeze through and notice steam coming from the exhaust with each squeeze. Yep! The Return tube was gone too! And I mean GONE! Lucky I had the directions I asked for here in Oct to remove that one, even though my brother took his car to a garage to have it repaired I'm much too cheap! I was deciding how to make a new one when my brother returned home and told me the garage just replaced his with rubber heater hose. "What that close to the exhaust manifold?" I said. "Yes and it's still holding!" was his reply. I ran mine up from the water pump along side the power steering then horizontally by the coolant tank then connected it to the shortened return tube about 1" from the T which I also turned horizontally instead of down. Oh ya and I held it all in place in about 4 places with zip ties.
It seems to be working fine. So far! Fingers crossed! I figure I saved $400. - $600. repairing and doing it myself. Thanks again for the help! This is a great site!

no problem i have a complete 2.7 motor sitting in the garage if you need any parts let me know...
