Remote trunk release trouble

My trunk will not release with my fob nor with my interior release button.
I picked up another trunk latch at the yard but still no luck.

Both latches operate perfectly with the key.

Is there a relay that may have gone bad??

check the solenoid in the trunk. maybe the wire came off of it, or maybe the solenoid itself is bad.

The solenoid Is what is built into the latch, that mounts to the trunk lid with the wires going to it; correct??
If so it's bad on the both of the ones I have.

Where would the relay be located?
I'm pretty sure I can find the fuses...LOL...

You went and bought a trunk latch before checking fuses/relays?
That is the first step.

Fuses are good. I didn't know about the relay. I can't find anything on it in in my Haynes manual.
What is the location of the relay.

I'll check back shortly. I've got 2 pair of LHS folding mirrors one 1st gen and 1 2nd gens to ship.

I think it sits near the latch itself under all that mat but I could be wrong, I only had to mess with it once and that was a long time agoe....

Have you taken a look at the wiring harness that runs along the left hinge in the trunk? Seeing as how that section of wiring flexes everytime the trunk is opened or closed it's been known to break. And the break may not be visible for the conductor as the outside wire insulation is intact. Does your trunk light work normally? Somethings to look at before you make it more difficult for yourself. If you have a multimeter..aka volt meter you can measure for voltage at your trunk release switch below the dash. If you have it there...then it's a good sign there's a break in the wiring somewhere between the switch and the trunk release solenoid. Inspect the wiring carefully near the hinge.
