Another Newb Rim Question..

What type of metal do the 2000 ES's carry on them? I was thinking it was aluminum with some type of clear coat...

I'm just not sure at all what ti is. If picture is needed, I will provide. Thanks.

I know there's no way to shine them up quite to the way chrome looks, but, is this the best I'll be able to do? (inserting picture, heh)

You can get them better.. but involves a lot of grinder, sanding, buffing, polishing... Then chances are you will have to re-clear them because raw aluminium will get shitty quick.. especially if you plan to run them in winter.... My opinion.. more trouble than what its worth... Get some oem rims like others on here have.. but that involves tires too more than likely.

Well, they're the ones that came with the car. If i do get other rims, I'll just throw my current tires on, they're less then 3 months old. Thanks for the answers.

If you get the right size of course.. take for instance charger rims.. which are 18" and require a 245/45/18 tire to match factory rim/tire diameter.

I think someone might have put caliber wheels on an intrepid.. not sure. Best thing to do is research the details

Bolt pattern is good, center bore is smaller on the Caliber. To use a Caliber wheel on a LH car, need to bore out the center hole appropriately.

Think it'd be a better idea just to get some aftermarket rims?

Would really depend on what you are looking for, I picked up a set of Mille Miglia F20's on the cheap, and I still need to get the center bored out a tiny bit

I like to run the widest tire I can but that sometimes leads to trouble tire rubs, wider turning circle etc.my question the car is running on 225-55-17s anyone see a problem with going with 235-55-17s.
