drive axels

im the kind of person that believes in replacing parts if they look liek they are getting ready to fail. scince the boots on my left drive axle are pretty much ate away and im starting to get a clicking noise while turning in reverse i thought i would go ahead and replace both drive axles even though just that one is going bad. i did a check online and please please please tell me that they are cheaper than $420 a pop. can this be right???? or did i just stumble into one of those rip you a new asshole sites???

Dude, I got mine at NAPA, couple of years ago, less than $200 for both of 'em. Like $80, each. Don't freak out when you have to pry on what looks like an aluminum transmission housing to get the, um, driver's side (I think), out. I had to do that, and was waiting for said housing to crack, but it didn't.
