My baby goes in next Monday and gets it done, going to see too if he can't put on the new wheel or hub bearinig that l've had in my trunk like forever. lt needs it but at the time l bought it the old one wasn't too bad, still don't seem bad but might as well have it done at same time. Also have a little leak and not sure what it is, looks and feels like oil but had the oil changed and valve cover gaskets replaced back in the fall and that's when this leak started. So could it stlll be from maybe oil laying in or around bolt holes or something? Anyways, wanted to keep ya's posted and soon it'll be road worthy once again

Talked to my mechanic this morning, he's also going to replace the hub bearing and the other strut on the front, be an extra 80.00 but well worth it to have most the front end new. Then after all that is done take it to have an alignment... l'm so happy

sounds like a stuck caliper/collapsed brake hose.

Between possible stuck caliper and hub bearing I bet your MPG suck. Replaced my last original (R/F) hub and got 4MPG improvement back to usual 28-30MPG!!

Yes my mpg have dropped but they did that too when the sub-frame bushings were bad but improved some since changing them. Hopefully after all the work gets done to it tomorrow it will improve even more. The best l've ever done with mpg was 26-27 on interstate and 21 in town now it's down to probably 17 in town and who knows on the interstate, haven't been able to really get out and drive it like that due to all the work it's been needing since last October but hopefully come tomorrow that will all be taken care of.

I had rack bushings done at Christmas. Cost went up from $175 to $300 because they didn't realize they'd have to take out the rack. Now it is leaking power steering fluid. Can't prove it, but it is something that shop did in my mind. Won't be seeing them again.

My car needs rack bushings. For about $40 each I can get the top and bottom set. Only thing is my mechanic insists I need washers and bolts (they get rusty in Ohio) which will set me back $30 from the dealer.

Oh and it needs struts but a guy from church got them from Pull A Part. So all told, the whole job will cost me $500, and $300 of that is labor, including $100 for the guy who went to pull a part! After all, I still come out saving $120 on the struts and more than $100 on the bushings!

Hopefully mine's back come Monday, it's not that it's taking this long to fix but he really didn't get started on it til yesterday. But had me bring it in last Monday and he is the only full time mechanic so l guess others were ahead of me.

I hear ya, the whole idea of bringing a car to just sit till there is an opening in the garage is hard to swallow. I run into it all the time with boats here at the shop - people want to schedule appointments for things, and there is just no way to do it... we have a 6 week wait with 3.5 mechanics in the shop - and the timer starts the day you drop the boat off, calling ahead 6 weeks and bringing the boat later just don't work for us...

Sucks more when it is a car you drive to work, not just your play toy you want to feed fish from.

Good luck with it!
