Tie rod ends, how do I replace them?

How do you replace the tie rod ends in a 1995 Chrysler Concorde?

Inner or outer. Outer is really simple, inner are a bit of a pain if you have the 3.5

Outer, I did do the inner and I have the 3.5L, I agree it was definatly a pain. I attempted the outer tie rod ends once already but was not successful, it would not turn at all.

Get yourself some penatrating oil.

I use Gunks Liquid Wrench. Works alright. Spray alot and sit back and wait. Then give the nut another go.

I used an impact to get mine off. If you have access to a torch, propane won't work, that will get it off. If not a lot of spraying with PB Blaster and a long pry bar

There is an adjusting sleeve and a nut on the tie rod end, do I loosen the nut and try to turn the whole tie rod end to remove it? can I get a brief overview on how to replace the outer tie rod end? I will try some of the liquid wrench, I only have access to a propane torch. :(

If you can get the crown nut off then its just a matter of loosening the tierod end from the tie rod, make sure it goes in the same number of threads If not you will need a frontend alignment

I did my inners and outers at the same time. Because of this, I took the tie rod assembly completly off of the car. Once off of the car and in a vise, it was easy to break the outer tie rod end free and press in the new inner bushings. I think if I ever have to do the inners again, I will definately pul the tie rods off of the cer.
