'93 3.5 L Engine Oil dipstick description?

I just want to make sure that my '93 3.5 L has the correct oil dipstick b/c I have filled the engine w/ 5.5 quarts and it shows low.

The dipstick has a metal beed on the end of the wire. The end looks like a 'mini' fishing anchor. On the beed it has MAX and MIN with 4 asterisks between (maybe 5, not certain) **, that trap oil in them when measured.

Just want to make sure this isn't a wrong dipstick to be using b/c my Haynes manual shows another, similiar to the transmission fluid dipstick.

What is the listed crankcase capacity?

I also put in alot of oil to get my 94 3.5L to full. I don't drain for long either. I yank the plug. Replace the filter with a prefilled filter <--counting that too. Replace the plug. Pour in the rest of the oil.
Restart the engine and check the stick. Six Litres later . . . . . .
