Is there anyone on hear that can rebuild my trans.. Trans was rebuilt by AAMCO last year and after 16 Months lost 2nd and 4th gear, And from what i was told Chrysler OEM part in the trans that was made out of plastic and was not replaced with the new updated Metal peace cracked and burn up 2nd and 4th gears. I can drop off the trans at your door....

my fault I didnt realize you were "new" here. A tranny from a 98-04 trep/lhs/concorde etc will bolt right up (kinda) to the first gen engine. There are a couple minor modifications to make this work, but the newer trannies are better more reliable blah blah blah. Go to the "how-to" section there is some good stuff there and also just do a search in the general section to get more info.

I rebuilt this transmission once. ...no, I wont be doing another. It can be a royal pita without the special tools. I Strongly recommend having a transmission shop do the rebuild.

Honestly the cheaper and longer lasting option is to swap in the second gen transmission as has already been suggested. There is a how-to around here somewhere for it.

I have rebuilt a few trans in both Front Wheel drive and Rear Wheel Drive.

It maybe cheaper as other have stated to install a 1998 - 2004 trans in the car, but if you want to keep your original in there, it is your choice.

As for pricing, IDK because the parts were already bought when I have rebuilt them.
