3.5 L cam sensor location ?

I need to replace the cam timing sensor on my car as the dreaded code and check engine light appeared yesterday...2003 Dodge Intrepid SXT 3.5L . I wanted to make sure that it is (located looking from the front) on the right side under the upper intake . I believe this is correct but wanted a 2nd opinion. Thank you.

Thats it. Just under the edge of the plenum in the top of the drivers side timing housing.

How do I take the plenum off? Can I just loosen it or do I have to remove it?

To get to the Camshaft Postion Sensor?

You can just loosen it.

BUT you need to re-tighten in the proper sequence and to the correct torque spec.

yes to get to the camshaft position sensor after I saw a P0344 code. Would I get the sequence and torque from a service manual for the plenum?

Yes, the sequence and the torque specs are in the 02 - 04 FSM.
Both can be found on page 9-161 (Section 9, Page 161).

If you have any trouble you might want to contact Daytrepper.
He has a shop in Zebulon. Maybe not far from you...
