I tried searching, but couldn't come up with the answer after about 10 minutes. I think our exhaust pipes are SS, but wasn't sure. I probably could tell with a magnet, but some SS's are slightly magnetic, so figure I'd better ask to be sure.
It must depend on where you are. The pipes on mine are as solid as when new, only with surface discoloration - very few blemishes. You get a lot of salt in Canada?
Steph, down here I've only seen the muffler and resonators rust out; not the pipes.
I do agree that they are not a high grade stainless because a magnet will stick and stick pretty well.
I haven't seen any rust through, but I've seen plenty of very rusty pipe and many, many rusted out resonators and mufflers. Of course, our lovely government loves to poor salt and salt brine on the roads during winter and that just destroys the underside of cars.
