OK I was having idle issues so I removed and cleaned my IAC. re-installed and the idle went to 3 to 4k and stayed there. Bought new one with new o ring same thing. Ideas? Need car for work tomorrow.

What were the idle issues before you cleaned / changed the IAC?

If I remember right, you are suppose to plug the plunger out before installation. As it is installed, it will create the needed seal.

Not a lot of detail in the manual:

REMOVAL - 2.7L
(1) Disconnect the negative battery cable.
(2) Disconnect the IAC electrical connector.
(3) Remove the IAC mounting screws.
(4) Remove the IAC.

INSTALLATION - 2.7L
(1) Install the IAC to the throttle body.
(2) Tighten mounting screws to 5.5 N·m (49 in.
lbs.) torque.
(3) Attach electrical connector to the IAC.
(4) Connect the negative battery cable.

All I did was remove the negative battery cable and replace it and the it started with out revving to 4k. It still has a high rpm start and then comes down but not to a typical idle. So its not the IAC.

TPS? Timing chain makes some noise and probably needs to be replaced. Could that be it? Maybe throttle body needs cleaned.
