I am going to replace the front rotors on my 2001 Trep 3.5 R/T
when I check RockAuto they have 2 types listed, normal and ones for vehicles with performance package,
which ones do I need? whats the difference?
All R/Ts have the PHP Performance Handling Package. With PHP the rotors are vented outwards. In other words there's a circular vent just around the "Hat" of the rotor that faces the outside of the car. Non-PHP that vent faces the inside.
PHP rotors are supposed to have better/more efficient cooling due to the venting outside the car instead of into the hotter inside engine compartment. Less prone to warping.
Both types fit your car. The PHP rotors are what it came with. I outlined the difference above. The Vent faces either the Inside or the Outside. That's the only difference between them. Both types bolt up to the hub with no problems and will work. As I said the "Cooling" should be better on the PHP rotors.
Thanks one and all performance rotors are now installed and all is well
Bill
