Help with some oil leak

Hello, I have detected a small oil leak (I think it's oil) in some place of the engine. I attached some pictures about it.
Anyone please know the name or reference of that part? I'd like to replace it to fix the leak.

The o ring there more then likely failed.

VITON ORINGS 136 SIZE BAG OF 10 *2" ID X *2-3/16"OD | eBay

Here is a link with what they look like. If you can't use this link, then this is the "Dorman" part number and dimensions. Can also be found on RockAuto

Part needed is MTV Oring -136 Width: 3/32" Fractional (0.103" Actual) ID 2" OD 2 3/16" (1.987" 2.193" ) Dorman 64136

Thanks, but the item in the link from ebay, and the item in Rockauto for Dorman 64136 seem to be different in the pictures, one has more size than other.

Anyone know the original Chrysler/Dodge/Mopar part number? Due to the shipping costs, I think I can buy it to my local Chrysler service by the same price or less.

The photo of the part on ebay is not the actual part - it's the photo they use for all sizes of that type of o-ring - the text in the photo in effect says that. That's why it looks all out of proportion. With it (1) being made of Viton, and (2) being qty. 10 for $7 including shipping, that's the best deal. Viton is *the* premium o-ring material in this kind of application. It would never have to be replaced again.

The exact same size o-ring is used on the rear cam cover seals that sometimes leak oil, so by getting 10, you'd have enough to do those cam covers and then some - even throwing away the extra's, you're $$ ahead.

I don't think Chrysler lists the o-ring separately. You could check the parts pdf's: 2nd Gen Parts Catalog
You'd look in the 3.2 or 3.5 engine section in the intake manifold sub-section.

Ebay FTW! Dorman parts are to be avoided in general, though in this case, it's probably as good as any standard buna-n o-ring. Again, not as good as Viton. (IMO)

Chrysler doesn't sell the O-ring by itself. You can buy the MTV separately from the Intake Manifold and the O-Ring comes with it. However the MTV retails for around $145 here in the USA.

The Viton O-rings mentioned above are the way to go.

This is what the Ebay Viton O-Rings look like. I dug them out of my parts bin.

One thing to consider with the dealer part is that if they haven't upgraded the material of the MTV o-ring, then you'll have the same problem later if you bought the MTV/o-ring from the dealer. Viton is the material you want. As Bill indicated the rear cam seal plates use the exact same o-ring. So whatever you buy you should get at least 3. The rear cam plates will start leaking in the future if they haven't already.

Thanks, I already purchased the Ebay one, I won't go bankrupt by $33. What I found in Europe has a cost of $20-$25 by one single o-ring, and I don't know how good in quality they are.
Sorry by my ignorance, but... anyone can tell/show me (some picture would be great) where rear cam plates are in our Intrepid? I have not good mechanical knowledge as you can see .

The rear cam seal plates are at the back of the cylinder heads below the intake manifold. They're not really visible from above with all the intake tubing on. You could use a mirror and look at the back of the cylinder heads to see them.

My apologies - I didn't notice that you were in Spain, but it sounds like eBay still was the best way.

3 of the 4 bolt holes (2 each) on the cam covers are blind holes. The lower hole on the driver's side cover is a through hole, so oil is free to seep through *unless* you seal the threads with RTV or other oil-proof thread or pipe sealer. (That info. is courtesy of Bob Day (FireM).)

I have the same leak.

My engine knowledge hasn't reached the 21st century I guess.

What is that leaking part called?

I looked through chapter 9 (Engine) of the FSM, but didn't see a label on the part.

Hi RepairBoy. I dont know the name in English, but replacing internal O-ring fixed tje leak for me. May be ir is something related to variable intake system.
