Starting problems still P1684 check engine

After having the fuel pump and relay switches replaced, my car is still having problems. Sometimes, when i start it, it doesnt want to stay started or acts like it's going to stall and if i hit the gas it makes noise and shakes and the RPM like struggles back and forth below 1.

sometimes it's fine, no problem at all. The problem code 1684 is still showing up and it's been more than 50 starts.

Also the check engine light just started coming on, i guess that is a sensor?

Check your battery connections. Sounds like there may be a loose connection somewhere.

check your egr valve. also check spark plugs and spark plug wires. Also check fuel pressure regulator. it could be a defective pump in trunk.

Garage
There are other codes. Have it scanned or do the key dance. P1684 does not illuminate the check engine light when it sets.

The problem could be the fuel pump / regulator like stated above, and what all other codes are showing up other than the battery code.

Dan (Daytrepper) hit the nail on the head when he stated that with the battery code, it will not throw the check engine light.

As for the stalling, issue, I would look into the Cam / Crank sensors since one of them could be or has gone south on you.

Maybe it was some water or other trash in the fuel that has worked its way out?

Hey all, I'm new here, but I have the same P1684 code on my 2000 2.3 Intrepid. Funny enough, I new the battery had been disconnected when I replaced it, but I tend to be smart that way!

I've done the key dance as well and this is the only code I get
Damn engine light won't go out.
Car runs fine, and I haven't noticed any change in milage to indicate anything else is wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
