99 Trep. I have the service manual that shows the jacking points for a floor jack, but the points they call out sure don't look very solid under the car. Anyone with first hand experience like to chime in?
I'm pulling the gas tank, so the regular jack won't work. Has to be a hydraulic floor jack.
On the rear, just be careful *not* to jack it underneath the metal that covers the pivot point of the trailing arm. I made the mistake of jacking at that point, and the weight of the car bent the metal against the trailing arm - had to use a big screwdriver to pry it back out so it didn't rub the trailing arm as it rotates. Go slightly forward of that point so that you're jacking against the flat part of that trailing arm bracket that acts as a doubler of the body metal.
