Door Weatherstripping Shrinks Again!

Had all 4 door weatherstripping pieces replaced a few months back. Now they are shrinking again. Back to the dealer I guess, but quick, as I only have about a month of warranty left. You would think that DC could replace these with new ones that wouldn't shrink!

Don't know how much it would cost out of warranty. I would guess that all 4 would be pretty expensive. I am taking mine in to have the dealer look at it tomorrow. My biggest worry is that in another year, it will happen again.

I'm having the same problem with my 300m. I had all four replaced about 4 months ago and one has began to shrink again. I believe the replacement parts have some sort of warranty on them.

I'm on my 3rd set of weather stripping now and my warranty will be up in August. It looks like I will be taking another trip back to the dealer before it runs out.

my factory warranty is up but is this something that an extended warranty company will cover?

Went to my Dodge dealer and the new body shop manager said that the weatherstripping needs to be glued when it is installed. They have the parts on order and are going to glue them this time. I guess we'll see if it works.

yes the have to be glued and (the 2000 model I think has none) usually they don't. If this happens to my 2003 SXT this time I will demand the old ones and try to cut and paste at the ends to add to the newer ones. This should take up the difference in the slack...may not look the best but better than being short/shrunk for wind noise/possible water leaks. I am sure there in some hell of a good black tape that would cover the patch work in between the two pieces anyways to make it look better.
