Crank sensor?(and ECM function questions) 2.7

Car has been back on the road for a little bit now. Have about 1,100 miles on it. I just did the valve seals, lash adjusters, timing chain, water pump, oil pump, ect. Engine has been acting funny off and on.

At times, it idles rough. Sometimes it stalls when put into gear from a stop(like from reverse to forward). At times it runs awesome, shifts great, idles smooth. Other times it runs rough(like a miss or running out of gas), shifts early, and idles rough. When its acting up, it shifts way early and looses all power at higher rpms. When I say its running "rough", I mean it feels like the engine just dropped a cylinder. Obviously it hasn't since it comes and goes. There are no noticeable ticks or clunks coming from the engine.

With the shifting, its weird. It will act like normal. Will downshift with a little snap of the throttle, shift at normal points. At times, it shifts into 3rd before 20mph, and I have to literally floor it to downshift.

NO CHECK ENGINE CODES

Could this be problems with the crank sensor? Or should I be checking my fuel system over more?

So, I disconnect the TPS and voila, problem gone. Since I don't have an idle control at the moment, the throttle body is opened up to maintain the 600-700 rpm idle. I added resistors to bring the tps voltage down to .80 volts(tried .70 too, it was worse). Now, I unhooked them, took it for a drive, and the difference was amazing. I changed the resistor set to where I now have .94 idle to 4.6X wide open. Even with that, it has less power than with it unhooked and in limp mode.

So, seems like I'm not getting enough fuel. I don't think stock programming trim can handle a 70mm tb, charger intake, and a much more free flowing exhaust. Should I try a smaller throttle body? Anyone know what options I have as far as different injectors or a higher pressure regulator?

Glad I could get some ideas here...

Anyways, everything is steering me towards a bad fuel pressure regulator and/or pump. I'm going to the pull-n-save and getting a pump.

Unless someone else chimes in with a better idea to try first.

Replaced fuel pump. While draining the tank, the old pump pulsed and groaned. Got a junkyard pump and it was running a lot better. The new pump definitely pumps faster. Engine ran awesome for about half a day and started falling on its face again. And its not a bad replacement pump.

I'll just figure it out...

Its kind of difficult to diagnose your issue whenever you modified your intake to the extent that you did. You're in uncharted territory. I wish I could help. Good luck
