99 2.7L Fuel Filter

Having some idle problems so I thought the fuel filter may need replacing. Anyone know where it is located?

It's part of the fuel pump assembly located in the gas tank.

Yeah what he said, in the tank. Not sure who the brilliant mind was that designed that one!!! Some DC vehicles even have them mounted up above the tank, like the '98 Caravan I used to own and the '98 Sebring my wife drives. Doh!!!

Idling problems? Getting any codes (check engine light on)? How old are the plugs? Check the IAC (idle air control valve) mounted on the throttle body. They can get junked up and cause idling issues and no other driveabiliity issues at all. How about the PCV valve, a junked up one will cause idling issues, but will also cause driveability issues. Start with those, and see is if they cure the issue.

try the simple stuff first. Try running some seafoam through your intake system (do a forum search...plenty of info) maybe it needs a good cleaning. Also change the PCV valve if you haven't already. The hose coming off the PCV valve seems to deteriorate on the inside and flake off. You either can get a new one from the dealer, or try scraping it out.
