Replacements V6s in 2006/2007?

I seem to remember something about replacement or uprated v6 motors being intro'd in 2006/2007.

Anyone have any info on these?

A new stroked 3.5L is rumoured. I'm not sure if it's going in the LX though.

Germans are influencing chrysler to use few engines to many platforms. SO far, Chrysler has used few platforms to many engines.
May $0.02 is that today's 2.0L, 2.4L, 2.7L, 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.3L, 3.5L, 3.7L, 3.8L, 4.0L, 4.7L, 5.2L, 5.7L, 5.9L and 8.2L (did I miss one?) used over approx 15 or so models platforms will be
Tomorrow's: 2.4L, 3.5L, 3.7L, 5.7L and 8.2L (Viper or Truck)
over 20 platform models.

just the way Benz does it. (In USA)
2.4L, 2.8L, 3.2L, 3.5L, 4.3L, 5.0L, 6.0L
Accross (A, C, CL, CLK, E, ML, S, SL, SLK)
About 30 different platforms. Plus AMG, but that's just tuning.
The Germans are saying (My G/F Worked at the Benz Factory in Boeblingen)
that USA sister company is using waaay too many engines and none of them perfected over too little model platforms. Cars need to be designed around their engines, and not the other way around.
Corrections anyone?

The 5.2 and 5.9 are no longer used along with the 3.9

OK, but don't some dodge dakotas and durangos use 5.2 and 5.9 still?

Oh, yeah, 6.1L, that's new too.

Also, very funny - gas is on the rise, so are the volumes of engines.. hmm..
I wonder what they are gonna do about that.

Perhaps the solution is the MDIS, the Multi Displacement Ignition System, that turns off half of the engine and makes a V8 run like a V4 to save gas whenever you're not leadfooting it.
I think MDIS is a great implementation. I like the idea. I'd love to see 6.1L chargers get 30+ mpg cuz of the MDIS. Still better than HUN-DUH.
HAHA, twice as much POWER and TWICE MPGs than Rice.

No they use the 3.7 V-6 and 2 - 4.7's V-8's in the Dakotas. Durangos use 3.7 , 4.7 and the 5.7.

No. The 5.2 was dropped for the 4.7L in Durangos and Dakotas, the 5.9L was used up to 2003 then dropped totally in the Durango and Dakota. Also the 3.9L was dropped in 2004 for the 3.7 in the (Gen III) 04 Dakota.

If they don't make a 4.0 V6 with 300 hp coupled to the W5a580. It is time to close up shop.
Also the 5.7 hemi should be 350 hp, and the 6.0 with MDS should be 375hp. Drop that stupid SRT moniker.

Also bore out the 2.7 to 3.0 liters, and 225hp is a nice place to start.
