just a follow up question to one i posted a few weeks back. my stereo went in my car, i believe the original stereo was an RBB with the inputs on the back for a cd changer and steering wheel controls.
I found a good deal on a RBN stereo. Would anyone know if the RBN will be compatible with my car? it looks to have the same inputs in the back of it? also wondering if it is the same width, length, etc etc as the RBB. will it fit in the radio slot of my car???
lol, i know but someone above said the plugs in the back changed in 02, wanted to make sure those are the correct plug ins for my model year. also i have the infinity sound package, not sure if that makes a difference or not?
Thanks for the quick reply. I know most people want to upgrade to a newer unit, but I really like the cassette option on the older radio. I'm probably one of the few people who still use cassettes. LOL
Your Intrepid looks just like my 02 except I have the SE version.
I would just look for a RAZ radio, has cassette, single disc cd, rds (gives station/song info depending on the station), and is plug and play for 02 and newer.
I believe I have the Mopar wiring harness adapter that allows 1998-2001 radios to plug into the 2002-2004 car wiring harness. Also comes with the antenna adapter. The antenna connections are different between the year ranges.
I have both types. Old to New and New to Old. Let me dig it out tonight and take a few pictures. This kit is rare compared to the other one. It's usually people wanting to put newer radios in 1998-2001. Not the other way around.
Chrysler Part # 8220723. Back when these were still available they ranged in price from $21-29. If you do a google search on that part number you'll get plenty of hits but when you go to the sites they all say: "No Longer Available". I'll sell it for $25 shipped.
It's new and never used. Wiring adapter and antenna adapter.
That sure looks like what I need, but could you take a picture of the inside of the plugs for me? I need the large one to be a 22 pin female, and the smaller two to be 7 pin females. I want to make certain I get the right parts this time since I'm already out $50 for the head unit / Cd changer. Sorry to be a bother man.
