I upgraded the positive to alt, negative to batt, and engine to ground. I left all of the old wires, because more wires is better, and it was easier to do that way.

I'm looking at doing this in the next week or so and was looking around and it looks like it would be a PITA to remove the old wires correct? Seem to be wrapped with other wires and tucked in to the protective heat wrap. So I guess by what you said above you would recommend just to add the new wires and leave the old ones? Also did you remove the old fuse or just add a new one to the new positive wire? One last question, did you just route the new wires right beside the current ones?
Thanks for your help.

there is no reason to remove the old wires. Electricity is going to follow the path of least resistance. Plus its just that much more wire for it to use.

this has probably been asked a million times but where on the chassis is the best spot to ground the alternator (where have you all done this) and where is the ground on the alternator it self, can i just put a wire on either side of either mount and run it to the chassis?

i would really appreciate pics here because i have tried this and failed twice. my head lights still dim the same amount as before.

yes, because if something shorts out and there is no fuse you'll have a fire as there is no fuse to stop the supply of power.

Hey just out of curiosity when you did your Big 3 Upgrade did you leave the original Alt - Bat + wire connected and ran 4G Parallel? or did you just run the 4g? Wondering about the B- to Post.
