Hi, brand new

Good evening to all, I have been reading threads for almost a week and could not find one specific to my problem although i have checked many maybes off the list. I have an 02 intrepid with the 2.7. the issue: HARD start cold/hot cycle the key 3 or 4 times and car will start 75% of the time. mostly runs fine after that although once in a while it will chug to life like its only running on 2 cylinders. i have been pulling my hair out for almost 3 weeks. PLEASE help. thanks
Lee

Welcome aboard! Good luck with your problem, I have similar symptoms on my 1st gen, so I'll be watching your thread with interest.

Hmm, what are the maybe's that you have tried, will help us from telling you to try the same thing redundantly to no avail.

And Welcome to the site!

Hi, thanks to all for looking! I will try to list this. already had new chain and waterpump, replaced 3 sprockets,2guides and tensioner, plugs, thermostat, air filter, cleaned pcv, found bad connector to ecm replaced engine harness from a self serve yard, new fuel pump (the pickup screens were BLACK , blew out fuel line, another trip to car farm and injector rail and injectors, then i peeked under drivers dash and i just about threw a match in the gas tank, but restraint came from where i do not know! another trip.... used bcm the original was not even screwed to the back of the fuse block. and noe i went from having 154,000 to 204,000 miles on the odometer.LMFAO next i removed all of the spade conectors that were left sticking from the taps for an aftermarket car alarm that someone else removed (a few of these had bare wire stickin from them. still same problem ok then my dumbass realized hey stupid the cel is not coming on with key. so last night i removed the cluster and peeked inside wow someone has heated the solder and plucked the bulb out.... another trip this afternoon...

Um... wow...

I think your car was taken from a self serve yard! That thing sounds harsh!

LOL actually came from auction to a buy here pay here car lot. this lady bought it and blew the engine. Then she buys an 02 gran prix from them while the engine was repaied. The lot replaced the engine with a used one the pulled from a total. Their "mechanic" left it like i got it. I got the car in a swap for replacing the intake gaskets on the gran prix so i have about $700.00 in parts. And about $10,000.00 in head scratching.

Hmm.. did it have that 'buy here, pay here' module that allows remote shut down? Maybe with the engine swap and everything else maybe it's causing an issue??
