Hello From Texas !

Hey Folks,

Just registered and looking forward to learning more about the Chrysler 300M. I'm not actually an owner, but I am now the cheif mechanic on a loaded 2001 300M that my son owns. Don't worry, I'm not about to do all the work myself. I'll be more like the consultant, looking on intently and pointing here and there, while sonny boy crawls under and gets his knuckles busted.

175,000 miles approximately. It's in pretty good shape overall. However, as you can imagine, a car with this kind of miles is going to have a few issues. It currently has a bad O2 sensor, small transmission fluid leak at the cooler, and the front door speakers are shot. That is the short list of issues.

I really don't know much about the vehicle maintenance history, but I do know it was a 1 owner car.

its probably well past due for a timing belt and water pump replacement. they are only meant to go 100,000 or 7 years before replacement. these aren't bad engines by any means, but that is one thing that you don't want to put off because these are interference engines. several people here have learned what happens when you don't keep up on maintenance.

^^^He was just playin' nice with you^^^

What he meant was if that timing belt slips or breaks, you'll likely have some heads to pull and replace with new valves. Does the original owner have any maintenance records for you?

The timing belt was replaced at 100,00, according to the previous owners records.
