LHS in limp mode only when car warms up: what issue/code?

I have been doing weeks of research on my car issue, but I need some help from you guys, because Im trying to avoid getting ripped off from a mechanic! Ive been ripped off before and it's no fun! Here is my situation. My car drives PERFECTLY FINE AND REVS FINE when I just start my car and take off: in other words when the car is still cold. But once the car warms up to normal operating temperature, it goes in Limp In Mode! So it wonít allow me to drive in anything but 2nd gear once the car gets warm .
Now I know that that is a safety feature of my 42LE/A606 Automatic Transmission, and I know that I can get my transmission scanned by an expensive code reader to find out what my transmission-related sensors say is the issue, but quite honestly, I donít have much money so I wish for someone here to ponder the description of my dilemma for a second, and use their deductive reasoning to figure out which problem would be the mostly likely cause of this issue? Because if it something that I can fix or do myself, I wish to do it!!
Here are the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Fault Codes I found that apply to my transmission type (which is a 42LE/A606 Automatic Transmission) :
THESE ARE THE ONLY TRANSMISSION CODES THAT CAN CAUSE LIMP-IN MODE:

FAULT CODE NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION:
11 Internal Controller defect (Watchdog Test)
13 Internal Controller defect (Watchdog Shutdown)
14 TCM Relay always on
15 TCM Relay always off
16 Internal Controller defect
17 Internal Controller defect
18 Engine speed sensor
20 Switched battery
21 OD pressure switch circuits
22 2-4 pressure switch circuits
23 2-4/OD pressure switch circuits
24 LR pressure switch circuits
25 LR/OD pressure switch circuits
26 LR/2-4 pressure switch circuits
27 All pressure switches circuits
31 OD hydraulic pressure switch
32 2-4 hydraulic pressure switch
33 OD/2-4 hydraulic pressure switch circuit
35 Loss of prime
36 Fault immediately after shift
41 LR solenoid circuit
42 2-4 solenoid circuit
43 OD solenoid circuit
44 UD solenoid circuit
47 Solenoid switch valve latched in LR position
50 Speed error in Reverse
51 Speed error in 1st
52 Speed error in 2nd
53 Speed error in 3rd
54 Speed error in 4th
56 Turbine sensor error
57 Output sensor error
58 Sensor ground error

Based on my special dilemma, which FAULT CODE above would best show up on a transmission reader as the reason for my described car issue? Or better yet, just tell me what specifically with the transmission do you think is wrong? Im hoping for anything but a whole transmission rebuild, which most mechanics I know are just throwing at me and not even looking at the chance that it may very well just be a smaller issue, as in many cases I have read it is. If you need any more information from me to help me resolve this issue, I will gladly give it to you. Thanks to you all in advance.

if you have a the cel light on at the dash you should be able to the do the key dance to see which trouble codes your getting and then go from there

I wonder if the key dance works on 1st gens ? Also if it works like it does on the 2nd gens, then he would only get the generic P0700 transmission fault code.

I had a similar prob with my wife's 1997 dodge caravan, actually exact same prob, worked fine till it reached operating temp, then went into limp mode, called a friend of mine and gave him the codes ( forgot what they were), and he said that the trans needed to be rebuilt, no way around it...he has been doin transmissions for 35 yrs, so i believe him... he wanted 1200 to rebuild it with a new solinoid pack and torque converter, i chose to sell it, even tho it had only 84000 miles. just my situation, hope you have better luck, keep us updated. Just remembered, code said something aout 4th gear ratio, idk exactly but i know those words were used..

hmmm...

Whats a key dance? I dont know much about situations like this, but I did hear something about there being specific codes for Chrysler Transmissions. But It would really be awesome if someone could skim through the codes I posted and maybe clue me in as to what codes seems to be the problem...? Like I said I think it may be sensor related, because it only happens once the car is warm, but that's just a somewhat educated guess.... Or if I have to buckle down and get a code reading, is there somewhere I can get one free or really cheap? Because Im trying to fix this problem myself if it possible for me to do so.... PLEASE HELP!!

it could be but your going to need to get it scanned to know really what the problem is....i wasn't paying attention and thought you had a 2nd gen where you can do the key dance on it to get codes

guessing will only cost you more, say we all think its a speed sensor,, ok,, 25 bucks,, oops not that,, try a imput sensor,, another 30 bucks,, oops,, not that, ok 55 bucks down the toilet,,, go to auto zone get a free scan,, and lets go from there

this just in....

I just found out that Autozone doens't do scans at all anymore anymore (what I feared intitially), but they told me AAMCO Transmission may do it.... BUT I HAVE A QUESTION....

EVERYONE keeps telling me that if my issue is Sensor related, my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT would come one (my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON)... is this true? EVEN if it is CHRYSLER TRANSMISSION RELATED? I read somewhere online that Chryslers that go into LIMP MODE will NOT show a CHECK ENGINE light when there is an issue with its Transmission Sensors.... PLEASE SOMEONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS FOR ME!! THANKS

Do you have an Advance near you? Or does it break some "environmental" law to make it easy to check codes in CA?

funny

The car mechanics out here in California took the Auto Parts stores to court and Mechanics fought and got a law passed by the State that outlaws these store from doing code readings. The mechanics defense was that they were taking away their jobs (hmmmph!).... Capitalism at its best!
