What year car is this? I'm suddenly thinking EGR tube seals (up into the plenum from underneath).

Is there a bolt in this side bracket? Also, do you feel vacuum at this hole? If someone put too long a bolt in this spot they might have cracked the intake plenum.

Not so fast there Mr. Biggus Eus!

Brandon suggested it may be an EGR blockoff plug in the plenum (http://300mclub.org/forums/viewtopic...=28293start=30) - perhaps Brandon is right, and you were closer to being right than you suspect.

At the shop right now.

So they hooked up a smoke kit and smoke was coming out from just under the plenum. Right by the alternator between the center and right side closest to radiator. There is a plastic plug that looks loose but can't pull off because of wires that run right underneath.

Any quick thoughts as I sit here waiting for an estimate

Waiting for prices:

A- replace plenum. Ouch.

B- remove plenum. Replace gasket or plug or whatever that is, epoxy it?, then hope.

125 they will remove plenum, epoxy the plug, new gasket between plenum and manifold, reinstall all. Also they will put it on a rack and smoke test exhaust. Feels worth it
