Angry Eagle Vision Drivers Seat

Have never posted on a site like this before, but need some help! Have a '96 eagle vision and the drivers seat broke--the back totally fell back. Not fixable, so have been searching for a replacement seat. Does anyone know if other years of eagle vision seats are interchangeable with the 1996 or how about dodge intrepid seats? Many thanks and hope someone can help. Also, the seat is electric.

Yes, all 1993-1997 LH (Concorde, Intrepid, Vision, LHS, New Yorker) seats are a direct bolt in. I am not too sure about the second gen 98-04 but I know of a few people on this site that have put second gen seats (or front seats anyway) into their first gen.

If you are only planning on replacing the front seat then I would try to find one with the same seat fabric (or leather) as there are a few different styles. Maybe you could find both power front seats to put in yours if your passenger seat is not already power.

The only thing to watch for is there are split bench front seat models and bucket front seat models.

There is a recall on the first generation seats....well more like a if it starts to break we'll fix it type thing. I know about the 2G recall before anyone chimes in. Ask your local dealer about it, they fixed mine when the seatback was loose and about to collapse for no charge.

Reply to broken seat

Thanks for the info. It helped greatly . Have talked to one dealer who said that there was a recall, just not on the '96, which seems strange. Have searched our state's (Nebraska) salvage yards for seats and coming up empty, although now that we could look at the intrepid-that opens up the field a little more. It is a power seat, the grayish leather one. Not wanting to spend a huge amount, as the car does have over 200K now! I read the old thread about this same subject and welding is not an option (would have no clue), not sure on the recall kit, may check into that and if anyone knows of a seat that would match, let me know! Thanks again.

I checked about the recall on mine and they told me it was the seat tracks that were being recalled. May want to get a second opinion on that at another Chrysler dealer.

Also, with the leather seats you should be able to find any grey leather seat as there was only the grey and tan for Concorde, Intrepid, and Vision. The first gen LHS and maybe NY had a light grey leather but those are plush leather seats. I would recommed getting a seat from a 96-97 as my 94 power seat motor wore out and I replaced my seats and saw that the motors on the 97 Concorde leathers that I got said gen II on the motors my orig. cloths from my car didn't say anything on them.

There is a nifty web-site that may help you find a seat for your car.

Take a look at "www.car-parts.com". This is a search engine for junk yards/ recyclers nationwide. Put in what your car is and then select what you need from a standardized list. Search engine will pull up all compatible parts, where they are located, condition, name and address (and telephone number) and price. Ranks available parts as most expensive first. It is easy to go down the list to find the best price. I then call the specific vender and describe exactly what I want. Parts people are very helpful and will verify they have exactly what you want.

I have used this site on multiple occasions. Works very well. Sellers are quite adept at shipping whatever parts you want.

I hope this is helpful.
