Question Ok

I'm thoroughly intrigued! Why would one want to do this? Is there a payoff in looks or function?

Some of these panels tend to flake away with age, the clear coat flakes and it looks awful.
It will improve the looks.

Oh okay, now I see the rhyme and reason of it. Those 4 screws are where now?

The 4 screws are on the inward side, open the back door and
you'll see them.

Is there a good way to remove the peeling clear coat from the whole panel or refinish it? I would think just removing it would look a bit odd with the paint probably being a shade or two different without the sun exposure.

Does anyone know where I could get some rear post covers? I searched e-bay and didn't turn anything up. And the local junkyards don't have anything that looks in good shape.

Its a black trim located near the rear driver/passenger windows. Open your rear doors and you'll see 4 screws going up-down(vertically). Its connected to those screws.
