i know everyone is asking about sparkplugs lately. all im wondering is what is the difference between the champion golds, platinums, double platinums and the copper plus plugs. i was checking Napas site for my CV shafts and looked up the plugs and it had those different types. i was just wondering the differences between them.
By TSB, Chrysler wants Chanpion RC12LYC plugs gapped at .035" in the 3.5L otherwise the fool thing won't start in zero weather. I had a cold start problem with my 95 LHS and it took the above plugs and a PCM update to cure it.
Yep, Champion RC12LYC plugs are what DC ended up putting in ‘97 models at the factory. FWIW, I’d personally recommend those or the Champion Gold 2412 plugs.
The Bosch copper plugs seem to work great in my LHS. No problem in cold weather.
