I did a search on this subject but could not find any related information. My LHS over the past few years has had the steering become more and more vague as I steer it and has gotten to the point that at times I do not feel comfortable driving it at highway speeds into a turn as the steering has so much play in it now. Is this due to tie rod bushings or what? Does this have anything to do with the recall on the steering control arm?
I had one of my mechanic friends help with the inner tie rod bushings..
Its a bit easier to do if you have a 3.3liter motor, since there is more room behind the motor to work. I had my sway bar links and outer tie rods done by my family's mechanic.
I have yet to do my steering rack bushings though.
Be sure to get an alignment after you replace any front suspension related part.
