My 1995 trep won't start 3.5 90000k code 43 comes up I changed the coil cause of a no spark.. I changed both cam and crankshaft sensors I checked the computer which was good. I switched the relays at the power distribution center I hear the fuel pump whine but no fuel smell i have fuel in the tank how do I check for fuel? No fuel No spark... what gives... timing belt? wires?I put in new plugs @ 35 gap fuel filter is going in today. One more thing the cam sensor has a slot for adjustment where the bolt goes what's the proper position for that? I just picked up a Haynes book next is a towtruck.... please let me know what else I can do many thanks...
have the fuel system pressure tested. I had the same problem with my 96 3.5. It cranked, but didn't turn over all of a sudden. My mechanic checked the pressure, and there was barely any there. Needed a new fuel pump. $369 for after market, with labor cost me like $440. Try that.
I'm still working on the spark If I am not getting spark does that go hand in hand with the fuel? I'm lost ... can I check all the coil terms w/o a ohmmeter to late to get one now...
A friend of mine worked in a shop and he had a 3.5 come in on a hook (no start) and after much diagnosis (similar to what you have checked) he found that the timing had jumped slightly, from what I understand on the 3.5 if the timing is off (even by 1-2 teeth) it will foul up the coil and injector timing enough so the engine will not start( I believe it will set a code, i'm not sure which..) just a thought... might be something to check out.
Check this out... The shop calls and tells me it's a SHORT between the ASD relay and the coil pack He's gonna run a new wire if he can't get to the orig. one. WOW!!!! another first.... That's why people buy new cars ... That's one for the record!
THE Trep is up and running once again The wire from the ASD to the coilpack shorted out... only me... $385.00 balloons later The mech. was shot....as for myself. THANKS TO ALL for their input. The new champion plugs @35 rock!!!! anyone ever hear of this happening?
The trep is back in the shop once again CODE 66..... it won't come out of 2nd gear the mech is putting alot of time into it but, its looking real bad....limp mode can anyone help it seems like nobody can get to the problem !!!! The shifter lights P R N D L light up AND they stay on and it won't shift could it be part of the orig. problem with the mech. running anew wire from the 20amp fuse to ASD relay in underhood center to PCM on right front fender wall. Two weeks later CODE66 comes up...any replies would be of great help.
