Can someone please tell me about thier experience with having thier heater core replaced in an first gen Intrepid. Whether you did it yourself or had it done at a shop.
Heater cores are usually a pain in the ass to replace, since they are buried in the dashboard.
I watched a friend replace one on his car a few years back...I wouldn't want to replace one in my car..
I did this, and it's a real big job. It took a couple of evenings but you don't need any special tools except to disconnect the AC lines. If you do decide to do it, be aware you'll need to have your AC refridgerant bled (if your lucky enough to have any), and you'll probably have to replace the hoses and hose clamps leading to the core. There's no way of getting the heater core out without disconnecting the AC evaporator.
