my cars gotten really cold lately since its no more than 20 degrees farenheit now. As I was driving my traction control was working but the light wasnt coming on and when i turned I could hear a high pitch whine/whistle. I am guessing a belt is frozen or something?
Cars can sometimes make funny noises when it's extremly cold,I have never heard a high pitch whistle from my traction control. And the light always lights when mine comes on. I do know that the abs and traction control sound pretty close. If you just heard the noise when you first start off I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe check the level of the power steering fluid.
I realized today its my steering column making the squeeking. Where would I oil it, or what should I do? Maybe just leave it if it only does it when it first starts up and is cold.
