Has anyone ever tried to put some kind of illumination in the floor gear shift box? Seems weird that it's not lighted. Or is it and mine's just broken?
you don't need it lighted because you've got the lit display in the dashboard instrument panel. i've never once looked down to shift in the last 2 years.
i think to do that though you'd need to make a new bezel because the one that's there doesn't conduct light very well if i remember correctly
Yeah, I use the dash indicator of course. Guess I'm just used to looking there cuz of my Jeep. I've only got 3 weeks with this car, and half of that it was in the shop.;P
I have had my Trep for a year and a half and I still look down when I change gears. It's 12 years of habit from my previous cars.
Look at 300Michael's work and if you still like the idea of lighting that up, hit me up with a pm and I'll share with you some much simpler ideas I had of doing the same thing
the first thing i did when i drove a car for the first time (the trep) was look down to shift it in drive only to realize i couldn't see anything, (it was dark), my dad quickly told me to look at the dash instead and I haven't look down since.
