One of the 1st things I did after I got this car was get the oil changed. Even ponied up the extra ten for the 'better' oil. (whatever that was) Now I've noticed that when I turn the key in the ignition, the little oil can light comes on. After the engine starts it goes out, but if I just turn the key to the 'accessory' position without starting, the light stays on. What is this?
OK, uno mas: Are there versions of the instrument cluster for this car that have
Voltage and Oil Pressure gauges? I'm actually kinda used to having them from my Jeep.
Unfortunately no. I know there are a lot of people on here who think an oil pressure gauge should be standard on every car but that just isn't the case.
-The oil pressure and voltage gauges on my Jeep have helped me several times in recognizing and dealing with problems. When my alternator died and I was driving on the battery all day without knowing it, it was only because I glanced down and saw the voltage was at 9v that I realized there was a problem and drove straight to the garage. Otherwise I would have come out to go to work at 4:30am the next morning in the freezing cold to a dead car...
