NOTE : THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE SEPT. 1, 1995 (MDH 09-01-XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Clunking or rattling noise from front suspension on small bumps, or free play in the stabilizer link ball joint socket(s).
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect front stabilizer link assembly ball joints for separation of ball joint seal from link and/or ball joint free play. If seal is separated and/or ball joint is loose, perform Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
AR 4764091 Link Assembly
AR 6502724 Nut (two per link assembly)
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the front suspension stabilizer link assembly with revised parts.
1. Raise vehicle on a suitable hoist.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the 2 stabilizer bar link assembly attaching nuts. Remove link assembly.
4. Install new link assembly, P/N 4764091, and (2) attaching nuts, P/N 6502724, and torque to 95 Nm (70 ft.lbs.).
POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty. TIME ALLOWANCE:
Labor Operation No: 02-20-10-92 Replace One 0.4 Hrs.
Both ends should be the same. It would only be different if there was a different size bolt on each end.
