I just bought a '96 LHS. It says in the owners manual that the speed senisitive auto door locks can be activated by the dealer for a modest cost. Does anyone know how to do this without going to the dealer?
Thanks for the quick reply! I guess I'll be locking my doors before I take off. No use to spend the $ on something so frivolous.
BTW, I bought it for $625 because it has 202,000 miles on it and a dent on the hood, but it runs better than most cars I've seen with 1/2 of those miles on it.
yeah their great my 1994 has 196,500 im catchin up to ya heh and its got auto locks go figure locks at 15mph, but my 96 that I always wanted auto locks on doesnt cause I dont want to spend the extra money at the dealer.
not sure...maybe they changed it for 96-97? not a clue I kno the caravan locks at 15mph also and the 03 se...Id go crazy if it locked when I turned the key
I actually read my owner's manual when my car was new and I had the dealer program it for no charge when it was in for servicing under warranty within the first few weeks. They just hook up a DRB tool and select the option for the auto door lock feature. It takes about 1 minute to do.
Thats great but alot of us don't go to stealerships to get our cars serviced. They didn't program the locks for free, they overcharged you for something else. :frenzy::wink:
Hmm...I thought all LHS vehicals came with it. My dads has it and I honestly don't like the auto lock feature. I do like how the ones on the chevys work. When you put it into park the doors automatically unlock right away.
