It's either because the people that wrote the Haynes Manual have a very strange sense of humor or they are just idiots. If you ever find a 3.3 with a timing belt, you should remove the engine from the car, have it gold plated and sell it to a museum. You truly have a one of a kind engine.

My error, I reading from the 3.5 section of the manual. The 3.3 section does not indicate removing the the timing belt (not the chain). That happens when your wife is talking to you when you busy.
