Like the title says, recently the driver's side door lock started making a loud grinding noise when you hit the unlock button on the remote or press the unlock button inside the car. It doesn't make any noise when you use the key to open it or when you manually lock and unlock it.
It has been terribly cold here, around 0F. I thought maybe it was cold related, but we have had colder weather here with the 300 and it hasn't made the sound before.

the passenger side door lock on my 300M has started making a fun noise when you lock the car, it doesnt happen when you unlock the car, only when you lock it, is the selonoid/actuator all part of the latch?

I have a 2000 Chrysler LHS that's making grinding/whirring noises only when locking. The locks still function but the noise is extremely loud and annoying. Im pretty sure that I might have to replace the power door lock actuator but, since it still functions could it be just be grindin gears that I can repair myself? If not.. how much do actuators run (front passenger and drivers back have become faulty)
I am parting out a 2003 intrepid, and i think the actuator is the same?

Hi, I just started getting that grinding noise on the driver's side door of my 99 Intrepid. Do anyone still have a driver's side actuator available?
