: anti hyper blink LED bulb thing
could anyone put up a pic of that one of these thigns looks like?
I was just going thu some old stuff and I think I found some - so I wont be scared to put LEDs in my rear signals! :D
Warlord187 01-18-2007, 10:50 PM It could look like a box, or it could look like a simple resistor (because a resistor is all you need).
Avenger 01-18-2007, 11:11 PM You mean an LED blinker relay? I think the Intrepids use 5 wire ones. Someone here installed one, didn't really elaborate too much, but said it worked great.
hmm
ok
its called a led blinker relay?
ill figure out if thats what these things are..
thanks!
these are what Ive got, but w/o that logo on there
these will work on my car right?

Ronbo 01-19-2007, 12:18 AM They look like heavy duty resistors to me. Run an ohmmeter across one of them and see what it reads.
Avenger 01-19-2007, 01:05 AM Those WILL work..........I'd just rather swap the relay and forget about the resistors.

what are you talking about?
Avenger 01-19-2007, 01:32 AM HAH, I found a DIY for a Jeep.....wonder if ours are the same?:
Flasher Relay Modification
1997-2000 Jeep TJ
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing a set of LED tail lights on your Jeep will activate the "Lamp Out" dectector on your factory flasher relay causing them to blink rapidly. This can be easily fixed on a 1997-2000 Jeep TJ by cutting the electronic trace leading to the detector.
After you've pulled your factory flasher relay from your Jeep, simply follow the easy steps below to modify it.
1. Carefully pry open the base of the Jeep factory flasher relay using a small flat head screwdriver.
2. Using an X-Acto or utility knife, cut the electronic trace coming from Pin 7. This will disable the flasher "Lamp Out" detector.

i have the same ones, and yes they will work.
cool
that relay thing is cool. i dont know that Ive heard of that before
JoeKD 01-19-2007, 08:09 AM Now try finding the blinker relay on an Intrepid.
I ended up using the load equalizers on my front signals then when I found out they were nothing more then 8 ohm resistors in a pretty package I used Radio Shack resistors on my rears, both worked exactly the same.
Avenger 01-19-2007, 08:27 AM No blinker relay? I remember someone on here changed his out on his 2g.........it's a 5 pin relay.
I don't think my Civic has a relay :(
JoeKD 01-19-2007, 08:41 AM There is a relay, it's just hidden somehwere within the dash

i found it easier just to use the resistors rather than try to jack around and find the thing then mod it to work since its not a standard 2 or 3 pin relay..

You and me both.....

i had a 01 civic that I changed the relay to a hyper blinker (cause I was soo cool). i know the looks are alot different, but maybe working are similar. just turn on your signal(s) and listen under the dash for the clicking
I beata firebird ina ES 01-21-2007, 11:02 PM just so people know on the 1st gen the resistor goes on the green wire (and the ground wire) that goes to the turn signal bulb. i just did the anti hyper blink thing last night, vary easy.
hey thanks for letting me know!
oh, and can normal bulbs still be used with those? I would asume so, but figured Id check
I beata firebird ina ES 01-22-2007, 01:46 AM i dont see why not, it just wont ever know if it blows.
