View Full Version : 300m Louvers VISUS 02-06-2003, 05:41 PM We're thinking about producing These louvers and are looking for comments. http://www.visuslouvers.com/300m1.jpg EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 05:43 PM Design some for a first generation Intrepid, We'll talk business :) What would the going price be for those by the way? VISUS 02-06-2003, 05:45 PM Retail should be $299.95 VISUS 02-06-2003, 05:49 PM We're thinking about doing an Intrepid. and were just offered a prototype vehicle a few days ago. EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 05:54 PM Would this be the first or second gen Intrepid? The price sounds ok, but what is included and how do you mount theese louvers? If you can give us full details, as in the materials used, which kind of sticky pads or mounting hardware it comes with, that'd be great. We've had threads up here before where people used photoshop to put luvres on the cars and it recieved a lot of compliments. I think if you actually go forth, you'de have some nie order #'s :D Edit: I really need to work on my scentence structure while at work. I sound like babbling kid :D VISUS 02-06-2003, 06:02 PM Here goes.... Function: Hinges on the top for easy cleaning, with molded latches on the bottom.Molded rubber feet to rest squarely on the glass. Protection: Blocks heat, dew and the Suns harmful rays from Occupants in the rear seat and deck, while still maintaining visibility. Made of: Aircraft Quality Aluminum. Powder Coated Semi-Gloss Black. Finish is paint able. Mounts with primer and pads to Window. JoeKD 02-06-2003, 06:10 PM man, I'm having flashbacks to the 80's when I was driving TransAms and Z28's and everybody ran these not my style anymore bit it looks pretty darn good EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 06:18 PM Yes, it does look good. I like it. The fact that this product is made of aircraft grade aluminum, well hell, that's impressive :D $299 sounds justifyable now :) "but honey.. the baby will be nice and cool year round" Does your company guarantee it's work? Or the sticky pad's effectiveness in hanging on at those high speeds we like so much? :D intrepitor 02-06-2003, 06:24 PM I agree with Joe, weren't those the days. It does look good though. I would like to see what a 2nd gen looks like with them. VISUS 02-06-2003, 06:25 PM We had Team Shinoda test the Mustang rear louvers with these pads with only two top pads attached. they ran it at 90 they stayed great... no vibration even without mounting the lower pads.. I stopped designing louvers in 1987 when we were making 100,000 of them a year I thought it was time to bring them back. EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 06:27 PM I say good call, many cars would look awesome with luvres theese days. Some may not, but with tasetful additions of other mods, ... imagine a second gen or first gen trep with 17" mags and luvres.. lol. that's be some crazy shit :D VISUS 02-06-2003, 06:38 PM Here's another louver on a Sebring I know it's not an Intrepid ... I might make one. http://www.visuslouvers.com/sebring.jpg EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 07:10 PM Well I think it's safe to say we have a large market potential here with the Intrepids. The reason you don't see more mods out already is because well, most of our stuff is custom. Nobody taps our market whatsoever in parts. :) I'm parts hungry myself, and luvres would be a neat upgrade :D I'd be the only one in Ottawa, at least for a short time :D (1993-1997 model intrepid here.) By the way, welcome to Di.net :D :D If you have some product you wish to market for Intrepids, 300m's, concordes, visions or other Lh sedans, please, feel free to tell us :D IntrepidLHS 02-06-2003, 08:15 PM I think those would look best on a dark colored car, the silver and white cars dont do it justice... EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 08:40 PM The look also looks far better with a wing on back. To even up the lines :D VISUS 02-06-2003, 08:56 PM I'll look for some dark colored cars to take some images of for more views... EvilDeadFan 02-06-2003, 09:09 PM Cool, mine's dark enough to look good with luvres :D Ship some down sans cost and I'll model for you any time :P hehe. JoeKD 02-06-2003, 09:15 PM here's a photoshop that rapidtransit did a while ago http://home.attbi.com/~afoote9487/louvertrep.jpg intrepitor 02-06-2003, 10:30 PM Wow, that looks great. red2k300m 02-07-2003, 01:49 AM Those do not belong on any car less than 15 years old. EvilDeadFan 02-07-2003, 05:37 AM Fabricate them for first and second generation INtrepids. Give us something to wet out mouths with :D THEN you'll see some results :D SPOOK R/T 02-07-2003, 11:19 AM Looks good had one on my 1985 Shelby turbo Charger. I think it would better paint to match the color of the car. viprman 02-07-2003, 08:04 PM I never liked the louvers on any car. I don't like the looks of them on the LH cars either. That being said, I can see how they would be sought after. These cars have large rear windows, which allow a lot of sunlight to hit the back seat occupants. This could be annoying and dangerous if you have young children. Are these items paintable? EvilDeadFan 02-07-2003, 09:46 PM Yup, he's said they're perfectly paintable. I think certain colours would look excellent, too :D Snorton Norton 02-07-2003, 10:28 PM Originally posted by joekd here's a photoshop that rapidtransit did a while ago http://home.attbi.com/~afoote9487/louvertrep.jpg Man, this I LOVE! If you guys could make 'em look like this, my money is waiting to exchange hands! IntrepidLHS 02-08-2003, 12:54 PM Yah those ones on that 300m are a little big, if you could make them more low profile, and less (how do I say it) deloriumish... 300Michael 02-08-2003, 06:06 PM Will you post when they are ready? It is nice to see a company come out with something for the 300M. When ever I want someting I have to build it myself. Speaking of Aluminum. Do you know of a place near Phoenix that would sell 9mm thick plate (about 12" by 12")? or even 3/8" thick. VISUS 02-08-2003, 06:35 PM I'll let everyone know as soon as I'm ready.. I might make a few more by hand and sell them for $299.95 I'm also thinking about doing some Intrepids if I get enough orders. here's that metal supply comapany. Capitol Metals An Industrial Metal Supply Company 5150 S. 48th Street Phoenix, AZ 85040 Ph. 602-454-1500 Fax 602-454-1540 OPEN MONDAY - FRIDAY 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM SATURDAYS 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM YB Normyl 02-09-2003, 08:59 PM All it's going to take for louvers to become the next hotest thing is Ford adding them to the new Mustangs Fastback. I like the louvers but I would definitely paint the topside to match the car. Might be easier to focus past the louvers if the underside is left black. I'm also interested in the sedan roof spoilers common on AMG's and Audi's. http://www.landspeedusa.com/products/productimages/cara_jettaiv_roofspoiler.jpg http://i.b5z.net/i/u/700504/i/Caractere_A48E_RoofSpoiler_ezr.jpg 300Michael 02-09-2003, 10:09 PM Will they be avalible for pickup at your place? I would rather pick it up myself and make a day trip of it. Thanks, for the metal info. VISUS 02-12-2003, 03:30 PM We are currently in production with the mustang louvers and have a GREAT response. here are a few images http://www.visuslouvers.com/louvers.jpg White97Sport 02-23-2003, 07:20 PM Originally posted by red2k300m Those do not belong on any car less than 15 years old. Amen. Whenever I see rear window louvres on a car, I feel an uncontrollable urge to grow my hair long, buy a Guns 'n' Roses tape, and steal a rusted-out IROC-Z....... Gorm 04-30-2003, 07:54 PM Humm.....reminds me of back to the future! --Gorm platnumedition98 05-04-2003, 08:55 AM great ssscott gorm. it does. ha ha it's alright on a few of mustangs. it definatley does on the 2005. 300Michael 05-08-2003, 11:46 PM I guess They have given up on us. With smaller vanes I think it would be OK. 300Michael 05-08-2003, 11:47 PM From the side profile the 05 and the 300M look a lot alike. jimtesla 04-03-2005, 02:56 PM Hey I have an 1999 Intrepid and I am very interested....
