What do you think I should use for the DVD I am gonna make?

My camera has the capabilities of both.

I was thinking widescreen would be cool, but, if I'm gonna be using video from other people for the DVD, I'm gonna have to go fullscreen so the movie doesn't switch between the two formats.

Although I prefer widescreen due to a recent *ahem* purchase, I vote for fullscreen because is will be easier to produce and the transitions will probably be smoother, as Randy mentioned. Besides, my TV will stretch it.

Can you do both? One on each side of the DVD? I have bought DVD's that were made this way but I have no idea what it entails.

Widescreen!

Nearly all DVD's have widescreen - either as the only format , or as an option on one side.

Widescreen looks better and displays a better view..

ummmmmm, what, 95% or more of the TV's out there are regular screen, so why would you make a widescreen DVD when you can just make fullscreen. The only reason widescreen movies are made is cause they fit in the theatres and they don't have to alter it for home use

movies are recorded as widescreen, if you record the video as full screen its NOT ging to look better on a wide screen, its just going to stretch it or leave you black spaces, more members have fullscreen tv's , and full screen recordings look better on full screen tv's... but if its recorded AS widescreen, then you can juts hve the black bars on the regular tv's.

I have a kick-ass Sony Mini DV camcorder that does widescreen or fullscreen. Here's the rub - the Pinnacle software I have doesn't seem to do the widescreen. You might want to take a look at your processing setup - there may be technical considerations that influence or dictate your decision.

Adobe Premiere can handle Widescreen
