View Full Version : Post your times
IntrepidXJ 04-13-2003, 08:27 PM Everyone who was at the dragstrip, please post your best times in this thread.
I will be adding mine shortly, as soon as I get my timeslips out of the car :)
ChicagoTRS 04-13-2003, 09:19 PM The dragstrip was a great time!
My best run:
R/T ... 1.084
60' ... 2.350
330' ... 6.593
1/8 ... 10.086
mph ... 70.57
1000 ... 13.071
1/4 ... 15.574
mph ... 91.55
I did ten total runs ranging from the 15.574 to 15.772. Pretty consistent.
My best reaction time was a pathetic .837...need to work on that.
TREPID 2XIST 04-13-2003, 09:28 PM Damn just got home from a long drive with a hangover and missed the track
I know Randy pulled off the best reaction time of .501 and the fastest time was obviously by turbo Rob at 14.33
Knightmare 04-13-2003, 11:26 PM 1/4 ... 15.574 Damn man! That is a sweet time! Is that the fastest non-boosted Intrepid time?
RapidTransit 04-14-2003, 12:36 AM 15.839 secs @ 88.20 mph
Pretty slow, but I did manage to take first place in the elimination bracket racing!
ChicagoTRS 04-14-2003, 12:59 AM Originally posted by Knightmare_3.5

That was the fastest. Spook R/Ts 300M ran in the 15.7s (Spook left the track early...he probably had some quicker times left as the times seemed to get quicker later in the day as it cooled down)...and I believe Rapid Transits 01 R/T was next in the 15.8s...Avengers 02 R/T had a few 15.9 runs...YBnorml was consistently in the 16.2s with his Trep (half 300M ;))...I think those were the fastest non-boosted trep runs.
The cute young lady (sorry didn't catch her name) who owned the second gen red 2.7 had some nice times...~16.6...was consistently outrunning the other 2.7s by a half second or more and I believe even beat most of the 3.2s. Was really impressed by that car.
96Concorde 04-14-2003, 01:23 AM whos the 'cute young lady' ?
Avenger 04-14-2003, 08:28 AM Don't you mean VERY cute??? I think even that may be understating it by a LONG SHOT! (I got a hug!!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeee :D)........was talking about Angela and her SE (which ran much more like an ES) for about 8 hours of the 9 hour drive home with YB (the other hour we were eating/sleeping/doing mods at 4AM :p)
I raced Angela several times, and she beat me once too :( 16.6 times on a 2.7, WTF??? OH MY GOD her 2.7 was DAMN fast. She almost won the whole drag racing competition (got into the top 4 but overstated her estimated time cause her trep ran TOO fast and she lost cause of that) She probably would've won the whole damn competition if it wasn't for that FAST run :( I was hoping she'd show all those R/T's who was boss :)
Knightmare 04-14-2003, 09:01 AM Yes, she was running very well. Her board name is 99'TREP'SE or something along those lines, right? Either way, that car is one fast 2.7, and she was driving it extremely well. Congrats Angela! :)
And congrats Al on the bracket elimination win!
YB Normyl 04-14-2003, 09:26 AM Angela has a very fast reaction time, my fastest reaction time as one of her slowest :( Out of 6 runs my best time was 16.18 @ 86.57mph. The 7th run with Angela driving was 16.2? (she's got the slip) I think it's time to get started on some performance mods.
Oh let's not forget the time Angela beat Avenger, of course he's gonna say he let her win but we've got it on video, by 3 seperate people.
Avenger 04-14-2003, 09:30 AM HEHEHE, yeah I lost to Angela and her SE, WHAT?????? 3 SEPERATE CAMERAS????? You guys must've been DESPERATE for a story :(
I'm never gonna live this one down :(
YB Normyl 04-14-2003, 09:33 AM No you're not! :hehe:

Haha, your R/T isn't so big and bad now, is it? :p
Avenger 04-14-2003, 09:37 AM Guess not :(
:p :p :p
<----------------new avatar text :(
I had a time of 17.3 @ 78 MPH, does that count? :D
Best time: 15.95 or so @ 90MPH, average time of 16 flat @ 89MPH
Reaction times SUCKED all day long, but got better towards the end......the first run I had was about a 2.0 second reaction time :D
IntrepidXJ 04-14-2003, 09:39 AM I gotta get my reaction times posted today when I get home from work. They kicked ass :)
crombie 04-14-2003, 09:45 AM Originally posted by Avenger

So basically a 2.7L SE embarrased your all mighty R/T huh? :D
JoeKD 04-14-2003, 09:54 AM here's the times from my 2003 Concorde 3.5 rental
#1 16.282 @ 85.61 r/t .647
#2 16.277 @ 85.54 r/t .631
#3 16.190 @ 86.11 r/t .701
#4 16.321 @ 84.99 r/t .917
#5 16.393 @ 85.55 r/t .659
pretty consistent times huh? Who would ever think that a rental would hit a 16.190!!!!
IntrepidXJ 04-14-2003, 12:56 PM OK...here's my best time:
R/T - .630
60' - 2.369
330 - 6.855
1/8 - 10.577
MPH - 66.31
1000 - 13.757
1/4 - 16.442
MPH - 83.39
But check out these reaction times:
1: .501
2: .531
3: .630
:)
creepingdeath 04-14-2003, 03:01 PM I raced Angela, and I could believe that she beat me like she did. I could not get under 17 to save my life. Maybe it cuz I have 81,000 miles and have the 17" R/T rims? She has half the mileage and the 15" steels. Im not sure. That 1/4 mile track was friggin cool. There were some fast cars there. Some ran around 7 to 9 sec. 1/4's at around 150 - 170 m.p.h.!!!
Here is my best time:
Reaction time: .611
60': 2.540
330: 7.284
1/8: 11.142
mph@1/8 mile: 64.44
1000: 14.389
1/4: 17.114
mph: 83.84
The good news was that I really improved my reaction time and improved overall each run.
crash459 04-14-2003, 03:09 PM my best time was 16.023 @ 87.23 mph out of five runs....
SPOOK R/T 04-14-2003, 03:55 PM My best time was 15.754 at 87.71. The red R/T`s are still the fastest Dammit . Had a great time but the frosting on the cake. Was Avenger running 16. sec 1/4 miles after all the shit. He gave every one how much faster his car was than every body else`s. Sorry Avenger just had to say it. But at least on the way home. You did no get a ticket for doing 91mph in a 65 zone. The dam thing is $262.00. I called a cop friend he said don`t pay it and stay out of WI for a year or so.

Damn, Kevin, I didn't hear about that. You were haulin' ass. I made 300 miles in exactly 4 hours for an average of 75mph. Had the cruise set at 80.
Oh, and I've got your trophy for third fastest ET. We'll link up soon so you can get it.
EDITED to remove sig...
SPOOK R/T 04-14-2003, 04:11 PM Thanks Al. Yea i was not feeling to well. I have been bleeding inside since last Thursday. i just wanted to get home fast. I did not want to tell any body. We were there to have a good time. Not to worry about me. Started my new job today it went very well just really tired from all the bleeding and lack of sleep . If i was a short with people i am very sorry. I can be a real SOB when i don`t feel good. I hope i did not hurt any body`s feelings.
IntrepidXJ 04-14-2003, 04:13 PM Damn Kev, sorry to hear that. I don't think you were short with anyone.
Glad you made it to the meet....it was good to see you again :)
Warlord187 04-14-2003, 08:02 PM Damn Avenger! First your exhaust is quite, now you lose to a SE!!!
:D
Knightmare 04-14-2003, 09:02 PM Actually, I think it was 92 Kevin :).
I think us MN guys should get together for dinner on Saturday or something. I think I left my cell charger in your car Al, and maybe even a CD.
I think you also have Matt's 2-way radio :).
Oh and Kevin, sorry to hear about that news. Do keep us updated, and I hope you keep healthy. And good luck with the new job!
jcman311 04-15-2003, 03:29 AM Hmm... no first gen 3.5 times? oh well, maybe next time i can go and beat a measly R/T

Ummmm, I ran 2 15.9 times...........what the hell are you talking about Kevin??? I NEVER said that my car was faster than the other R/T's on the board??? Why would I even THINK I somehow had a supernatural R/T that ran faster than the rest of 'em???......Though I DO think Angela has a supernatural SE (that thing was DAMN quick for an SE)
You know, I think I could've ran some 15.5 times, but I couldn't get the crappy Michelin tires to hook up after I turned off the Traction control. My top time was with Traction control ON (and the brakes were applied as a result :() and my second fastest 15.9 time was with Traction control OFF (lots of wheel spin, and not enough racing experience to feather the pedal :()
Crappy reaction times too, that got better with each run, the first run I had a 2.0 sec reaction time :p
I'm gonna let you know ONE MORE TIME, I did NOT talk shit EVER about running faster than ANY other R/T (3.5) and didn't want to race you due to the Ram-Air mod :)
ChicagoTRS 04-15-2003, 10:21 AM Originally posted by jcman311

There was one first gen 3.5 there...not sure whose car it was...but I think he was running in the low 16s.

If I'm there next year... We'll have to race Rob. Then you'll see how much of a supernatural SE I have. :D ;) :p
IntrepidLHS 04-15-2003, 10:43 AM R/T...1.020

Mine was their. I was the oddest one their because I was the only first gen thier. I know my best time was 16.5 with my subs in. they are about 50 Ibl. I will post the times when I get home from school tonight.
Knightmare 04-15-2003, 02:35 PM I remember you giving people shit, joking around, Rob #4. I don't think you were serious, but neither was Kevin up there. Oh, and if 15.9 was your best time, I'd say you were running 16's. Stop arguing :).
Gotta love the low trap speed of the Dakota considering the decent ET. That power is all down low :).
Avenger 04-15-2003, 04:15 PM Ummmmmm, I don't rember giving people shit, joking around, I DO remember complaining about my reaction times, they sucked bad :(
RapidTransit 04-15-2003, 06:52 PM Whee! I found another timeslip. It was my second race with Spook.
R/T 1.186 (gotta work on that)
60 2.328
330 6.651
1/8 10.210
MPH 69.28
1000 13.253
1/4 15.804
MPH 89.34
SPOOK R/T 04-15-2003, 10:06 PM Avenger i did try to help you. I told you to turn off your TC ,open your hood , And not to power brake. Everbody was kidding around. I only heard about 1 - 15.9 run all your other runs were in the low 16. sec range. Your R/T times were bad. But at least you did not red light. Like i did on my last run.
Avenger 04-15-2003, 10:07 PM I had 2 15.9 times

Again.. i wish I was there...
you had to have a faster time than that... the first gen 3.5's were quite a bit quicker than the 3.2's the last time we were at the track..........

you mean "my" 3.2 :p
the other 3.2 kicked all our asses...maybe cuz of that turbo he's got on there :D
YB Normyl 04-16-2003, 05:34 AM Hey, come on, if you recall I won the dial in race against the turbo
Only cause he went below the dial in time but that counts doesn't it? :D
elboricua75 04-16-2003, 09:21 AM i know i am posting on the board late but i just started a new job.
Off the top of my head my best time with my SE 2.7L was:
1/4 mile = 16.7
MPH = 83
R/T = 1.05
Lafrad 04-16-2003, 10:39 AM man... so much for the "slow ass 2.7" theory. they easily are showing to be mid-upper 16 second cars. not mid-uppwe 17 second cars

I can't imagine your 3.2 is on the "slow" end of the 3.2 scale.
Sorry about the wait. Since I had my vacation all hell is breaking loose on my school work for the week!
R/T 1.284
60 2.390
330 6.889
1/8 10.643
MPH 65.68
1000 13.839
1/4 16.515
MPH 83.98
I have a theory that I would most likly get around 16.2 if I had my subs out. I did have a home audio speaker that I bought in chicago in the car for my first 3 runs and the best was 16.69 in the 1/4. It was about 30-40 Ibl. Taking them out gave me about a .2 less. So I am thinking If I took my subs out then I estimate it would of been another .3 less maybe. They were about 50 Ibl. I would have took the subs out to see what happened but when I took the first speaker out we had to go on the track again.
99IntrepidSE 04-17-2003, 01:59 AM Ok here is my best time... on an 2.7 SE!!!
1/4-16.605
MPH-83.80
R/T-.974
Best Reaction Times.... nothing over a second!
.728
.747
.788
I don't think my SE has supernatural powers or anything. All I have in it is the K&N off-road air charger, and I took everything out, including the spare. It was pretty cool beating an R/T:wink: thought they were fast?!?!
Avenger-next year you better be running mid 15's or else:biggrin:
YB Normyl 04-17-2003, 03:09 AM I wouldn't be surprised at all if I'ld seen a 2.7 run a 16.2 or 16 even, I've driven some quick 2.7s (seat of the pants dyno) and some puzzling slow 3.5s. DC powertrain engineers says a 2.7 has a greater potential for horsepower gains than a 3.5

With the J-Intake i was running steady 16.8's all day and then i broke into the 16.7's, i never saw 17's at all. When we went to the track last time november i was all over the place, i managed that day somehow to hit a 16.8 once but the rest of the day i was hitting 17's. This time i was consistant i need to try and do a torque brake take off instead of mashing the pedal to the ground when the light turns green and see if that make a difference. I see angela had R/T time of under .900 and i was R/T 1.00 almost all the time but still hitting 16.8's steady. I do notice some more power and the engine is smooth when i floor it before i would floor it and it would pause and take a deep breath and then go now it just goes and i love the sound :D
One last thing when i ran in november that was suppose to be ideal racing weather like 32F degrees and i now in 70F degree weather i am hitting 16.7 and 16.8 steady would love to see what she can do in nice cool weather like back in november.

That's a very good description of what happened before and after I put my intake on, too.
stevedemon 04-18-2003, 03:18 PM I probably would have done well, had my car actually made it. I guess I would have been the 2nd 1st gen 3.5L to run, but as you all know by now, my car burnt up. Probably a good thing I didn't make it to the track, since insurance likely wouldn't have covered it.
Knightmare 04-19-2003, 12:06 AM Yeah, I'm sure if you mentioned the word "drag", they probably would be less understanding.
Turbo 04-19-2003, 02:19 AM umm...though I was more or less dissapointed with my times, I really cant complain about the 70 degree day since my intercooler is only like 10% functional right now, LOL. The heat took its toll on all of us that day. Below is my best run for the day.
R/T.... .761
60'...... 2.260
330......6.218
1/8......9.389

Best 60' was 2.23 (I guess I blew it at the end)
Best 1/8th mile MPH was @ 78.65 MPH
Best R/T's were .538 .625 .761 (Props to Randy for a .501 !!)
I was impressed with the 2.7L times (Aundre) 3.2L times (Randy) and the 3.5L times by ChicagoTRS. I do believe Randy had better times than I did when I had the same performance mods.
