Well start by making sure the engine is running its best. Give it a tune up if it needs one. We will go from there.

have done full tune up the only issue with the car is a slight wear of brake which i am working on fixing right now ... also wipers keep blowing fuses but i fixed it with a bigger fuse ... put in a 40 but it should be a 30 ... think it is switch looking into getting a new switch to fix so i don't burn the car up ... open to all suggestion on mods

Well there is the air intake and then the exaust. Put some nice high performance cats on and some mandrel bent exaust.

And that just about covers all you can do for pure performance.
There is some suspension work you can do for better handling, pop in some PIAA bulbs for better light coverage and thats about it.

I disagree on the exhaust part. The stock catback section of exhaust flows very well and is just fine for making up to around 250hp. The front section of the exhaust could use some work. The manifolds and down pipes off of them could be a little more free-er flowing.

i've read that there are 2 20lbs mufflers in the exhaust ... would it be better to elimanate them and run full cat back or should i leave them in and alter only parts of the exaust ... and my other question is for the cold air ... will it be a single intake to put in or will i get more power putting dual intakes???

Kenne Bell sells Optimizer II which will remove the limiter and improve the engine tuning.

The thing is, you should get it last when you have finished moding your engine etc.

As far as air intake this : http://members.cox.net/j-intakes/
is the best you can get without doing something custom.
You'll get the most power from replacing the catalytic converters with high performance ones. Thats where the bottle neck is now and thats where it'll be for some time.

While I agree that dual exaust as is probably can do 250 HP, I think it's possible to get 300ish out of it with a true dual exaust and high performance cats. Dual exaust 'should' improve performance a bit with all else stock but frankly it's more of a "look & sound" upgrade than raw hp.

Oh and I'm fairly sure that there are also carbon brake disks out there and KYB struts which make the car feel firmer.

Oh and I'd not go over 100 with the stock tires and suspension. They skid fairly easily and the car "wobbles" and "bounces" about on turns. I stuck on some Bridgestone Touranza tires and it stopped skidding but still wobbles.

yeah i know the wobble and bouncing that your talking about ... when the restrictor kicked in i was using everything i had to stay in the seat and keep car on the road ... so with intake and true dual and performance cats i can push 300hp??? that would be nice ... thanks for all the input ... i will post as the mods are done ... still open to suggestion ... later ... just out of curiosity what are eveyones thoughts on the Sub. wrx sti ??? stats show better then lancer evo7/8(depending on the jap or imported one) and i like the body better ...
