Hello everyone,

I own a 1998 Chrysler Concorde 2.7 LX  .

A few weeks ago, I installed an aftermarket MP3/CD/Radio receiver into the dash. Up until recently, it gave me absolutely no problems  . A couple days ago, I installed an aftermarket 150 watt amplifier for my two 10" subs...get this...I connected the 12v battery source wire from my amp onto the same wire that was hooked up to the back of my receiver, which turned out to be a big mistake  !) Surprisingly, the amp worked fine for about 30 minutes until I began to experience what I consider to be a huge electical problem :mg: !

My problems include the following:

1) I can no longer turn on/operate my receiver - heck, it won't even light up when I turn the key in my ignition

2) I can no longer use my keyless entry/trunk release key fob - I have to use my key to unlock everything!

3) I can no longer use my door lock/unlock switches within each front door.

4) Every single one of my interior lights fail to illuminate when I enter/exit my vehicle or turn the switch.

5) Very seldomly, my horn sounds off when I crank my vehicle.

As you can see, I am pretty much experiencing a huge electical problem some where. If there is a Chrysler electrician amongst the members of this site, please contact me with some advise via private messaging, e-mail, responses, etc.
I'd rather use some advice and repair the problems myself first thing, before I dish out $65 an hour at the dealership.

- Thank you for your time and attention...May God Bless!!

Sounds like a BCM problem. You probably have to change BCM which should be in kick panel on passenger side. Also I don't know what head unit you have but there should be a fuse on it somewhere, change that. Next time you hook up amp power directly from battery and hook up remote on wire to wire on radio that says remote on (should be a blue wire).

Did you check any fuses both at the box under the hood and inside the car?

I appreciate your responses to my problem. My computer is down at home, so it has been a while since I've logged on. Luckily, the only thing I ever needed to fix my electical problem was a simple 20 amp fuse in the kick panel - dang!

Once again, I appreciate your advice.
