i don't know for sure the stats on these little cars, but i do know that i had a little trouble pulling on him...anyway...

there was a red light, i was in the right lane by myself, there was a gold 2.7 trep, focus SE and red accord v6 coupe in the left lane. light turned, i started off, the 2.7 punched it and i didn't do anything, the 2 lead cars were in front of me but the limit was 40 and i was at 45 in no time and they weren't pulling away. i looked in the left mirror and saw the accord jockey winding up to try and cut in between me and the focus...**** that.

i had a drink in hand and couldn't reach the autostick, but i punched it anyway and it took a second for my big baby to slam down into 2nd but once it did the race was all over....i pulled to about 55 or 60, way in front of the focus and the 2.7. then the guy cut over behind me to pass them and i slowed down and made the asshole stay where he belong.

i would be interested to know the stats on the accord v6. i don't think it makes as much hp as my 3.5 but it is probably geared differently. anything would be appreciated.

Horsepower: 200@5500rpm
Torque: 195@4700rpm
Compression Ratio: 9.4:1

It weighs about 200-300 less. I put the curb weights in my previous post. :)

Yeah the Accord coupe V6, looks like it has more balls then it really does.. I thought they would be more than that.. guess not.. I will just have to rev my engine the next time I pull up beside one. :)

A good friend of mine wants to get one. He said that when he does, we'll have to race. I think I have him beat! :)

i'm guessing that with those weights (sorry, didn't see them before) it'd be a driver's race even between a 2.7 intrepid and one of those suckers.

It'd be driver's race, but I think the Accord has the slight edge.

last time i checked the only V6 VTEC motor is that which goes in the NSX. you don't have VTEC.

I would think my 2.7 trep can keep up with a V-tec accord ,never mind a 3.2 ,so go back to your accordv6.com form !!

The Accord does have a VTEC engine. All newer Accord sedans and coups with a V6 have VTEC. The Odyssey has a V6 with VTEC. Also, the Acura 3.2TL/TL-S and 3.2CL/CL-S as well as the MDX and NSX all have V6 VTEC engines.

Sorry, but VTEC is in much more than just the NSX...

Honda needs to stick to making lawn mowers. Now thats a worthy VTEC engine!!!! I have beat a few with my hopped up Yard Man because I've got the 6 speed transmission. VTEC....ha! I fart in your general direction!!

And how many of us here have put very much less than 23 grand into an Intrepid and CAN beat this honda? I don't plan on counting this one either, but I bet this number has at least two zeros in it.

I assume you have an R/T? The TL does have a VTEC V6. It's a 3.2-liter, 225 hp, 24-valve, SOHC, VTEC V-6 aluminum alloy engine. There shouldn't be any way you were able to "rip the doors off" of his TL. Thier times are very similar to ours.

You wanna rip on riced out Civics and such that wanna claim they are fast based on their VTEC and a 4" fart pipe, that's fine. But don't rip everything with a VTEC engine.

Believe me or not, that's fine, I really don't care. Facts are facts and I can guarantee you there are VTEC equipped cars, in our "class" (i.e. TL-S and CL-S) that will walk all over any Intrepid R/T they choose...

BTW: that supercharger kit isn't that scary for an Accord V6. According to the article in Honda Tuning magazine (which is where you got your pic from) the numbers aren't too astounding. Let's see from the amazing 5 psi of boost it gives on the Comptech Accord (which was equipped with much more than just the supercharger kit) the numbers are:

230hp@6630rmp
193ft-lb@5970rpm

Let's see according to Honda's site the V6 Accord stock has:

200hp@5500rmp
195ft-lb@4700rmp

Hrmmmmm I'm not too impressed for $5000! +30hp and -3ft-lb? Oh and let's not forget about all the other recommended upgrades to get the most out of the supercharger.

And let's see, the times they measured with the Comptech care were:

average: 14.7 1/4mi. (best 14.44)
average: 6.59 0-60 (best 6.19)

Today my freind bought the honda tuning magazine. ANd what picture do i see the same excat one as the one on this page. What a fucking looser.

And let's not forget the $1200-$1500 for the Prowler Pro Gears which could decrease the 1/4 mile time of my R/T by 0.5-1.0 seconds.

Why don't I have these mods? Because I don't have the money.

And don't give me the shit about the tranny not being able to take that kind of power. With some mods (like a bigger tranny cooler for starters), the tranny should be able to hold her own. Hell, the Prowler guys do it!
