View Full Version : My first 300C Experience
IS300M 04-05-2004, 09:48 AM I saw a sweet midnight blue 300C at Central Chrysler in Norwood Ma on friday March 25 2004. It had just been taken off the truck when I sat in it. When they started it I could barely tell it was running, it was so smooth and quiet. The seats wer really comfortable, had plenty of leg room all around and its build quality was amazing, all the plastic was tight and expensive feeling.

When I bring my car in tonight, I will get pictures of 2 others that are supposedly in inventory.
Moparpartsguy 04-05-2004, 12:28 PM We got a 300 touring and a 300 limited in at work. I sat in one and played with the buttons and stuff.
rt_bob 04-05-2004, 04:33 PM Last night I saw a silver 300C. South bound on 127 in central Ohio with Michigan plates. I came up from behind. I didn't recognize it at first. It had small dia. dual pipes. It was narrower than I envisioned from the photos. It looked less ponderous than I expected. I followed for a few seconds, then blew by.
FunkRider 04-06-2004, 11:06 AM This morning i saw a silver 300. Base model. 2.7 and all i guess. He put his foot in it ( i guess) and it went nowhere. Super super slow. Sounded cool though.

In Canada they don't sel the 2.7. It must of been a 3.5 with all 4,000 Pounds to pull.

Really? It looked really base modelish with hubcaps etc.
Stock04Intrepid 04-21-2004, 07:47 PM No 2.7 in Canada. Our "base" model is the 3.5.
Although, I wish they cancelled the 2.7. Why not just use the 3.8 from the minivan in these cars? Have the 3.5 as base, 3.8 as turing, and Hemi as the C model.
moparman 04-21-2004, 08:24 PM The 2.7 is being used for a low price point.

3.8 makes less power than the 3.5, so it would be 3.8, 3.5, 5.7.

They are going to use the 3.8 in the Pacifica this fall to replace the 3.5. Maybe they think they will need the 3.5 production for the 300? The 3.5 has more HP than the 3.8 but the 3.8 has more torque.
The 3.8L in Pacifica is not a replacement for the 3.5L.
They are using the 3.8L as the base engine in the two row model to keep the base price point around $25K. The 3.5L is still available and standard in the higher end models.
DScruggs 04-23-2004, 01:39 PM The 3.8 is "OLD" technology and that is the main reason they wont use them in my opinion.

The 2.7 is being used for a low price point. I bet it also helps out their EPA manufacturer emissions requirements ...
georgiyp 04-26-2004, 11:57 PM My local Chrysler dlshp did not even have a showroom model, yet I counted 6 300c only in one parking lot in hotel in Los Vegas.
Why would be so many 300C in Los Vegas? Rentals?

Well, the Hemi dates back to the 50's :)
Also, I would think they could tune more power out of the 3.8 with ease. Perhaps it's just not worth it.
Don Hardy 04-27-2004, 12:17 PM Got mine today!
Rentals are probably not 300C, 300 or one of the other 2 models, but a rental C?
The dealer even filled the tank! 300C, Magnesium, dark/med slate, sound packII, protection packII, moonroof. Goes like you hope a HEMI would. :-)))) Great deal too.
