I know some of you guys have painted your door speaker covers. What type of paint did you use? I am wanting to do mine in black. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

View Full Version : Painting? Speaker covers... trutrep 03-20-2002, 04:24 PM I know some of you guys have painted your door speaker covers. What type of paint did you use? I just used regular spray paint that you buy about anywhere. High gloss of course. ATFCharger 03-21-2002, 08:27 AM Testors model spray paint. I used two coats. Here's a pic of the process (http://www.imbermedia.net/ATFCharger/speakergrille.jpg) Here's the finished product: http://www.imbermedia.net/ATFCharger/speakergrille2.jpg p3 03-21-2002, 08:34 AM That pic looks familiar. I think you were the one who gave me the idea to do that. :) trutrep 03-21-2002, 12:33 PM Thanks for the help guys... trutrep 03-21-2002, 04:19 PM [QUOTE]Originally posted by ATFCharger [B]Testors model spray paint. I used two coats. Did you use only two coats of the model spray paint (no primer or clear coat) ? Thanks. ATFCharger 03-21-2002, 10:10 PM No primer, no clear. Nothing rubs on them so it doesn't come off, so no clear was necessary. Plus, it was aluminum colored paint anyway (so the metallic of it was already shiny enough). And i used the base coat grey that the factory sprayed on it as the primer. Came out great. And to p3p3, that prolly is the same image. A really old image...from last summer...when it was warm.....*uggghhhh* |
