Okay, since you're all well aware I'm nowhere near knowledgeable on cars -- the black trim around the door and window areas (the part with the SE on it) appears to be all spotted and discolored, particularly after a rain. Is there a special product I need to use to protect it?

Could it be caused by the clear coat put on during an automatic
touchfree wash?

I tried wiping it down after yesterday's wash, but it didn't make the spots go away.
