i tried to put my 3.89 gears in last night but couldnt get the rear cross member that has the trans mount out. i could get it disconnected fine and take the trans mount off, but the cross member was wedged in there real good. any advice from someone who has done it before? the how to says to just keep jacking the trans/motor up and down till you find the angle it likes, but i tried that and couldnt do it.

I had to loosen all 4 cradle bolts, that drops the rear enough to get the rear cross member out.

Also take off the front wheels, that will help too.

I don't know if you tried to get it out the left side but that was how I got it, had to force it a bit past the fuel/brake lines but it did go with some tilting etc.

After I raised the transmission to clear the isolator from the transmission bracket I lowered the tranny to get the crossmember out so I don't *think* you need to raise it to get it out unless you dropped it too far if that is possible, I got mine to the sweet spot after a couple tries.
